Barney and the vet

Where ever Nin is Barney won't be far away
Barney sitting in front of the door where we keep their food

We had to take Barney to the vets for his injections ~ and he is terrified going there ~ I can't understand why as they are such a lovely lot of people and are so kind ~ but he only has to enter the doors and he starts to shake ~ Lyn and I took him in my little car and he sat on Lyn's knee but he worried all the way ~ when we arrived at the vets I sat in the car and Lyn took Barney into to see the vet ~

I sat there for a good 20 minutes so thought I would go in to see how things were going ~ well Barney was still on Lyn's knee shaking like a leaf ~

he eventually had his injections and was really a very good boy ~ but he couldn't get out of the doors quick enough ~ I had to smile as the vet told Lyn he was overweight and had to go on a diet ~ she got a phone call today asking her to go to the surgery and have a consultation with his fat nurse ~ (Nurse is not fat) just Barney ~ he weighs 4 stone I am not sure what he should weight but I am sure it is not 4 stone ~ but I hasten to add they had made a mistake using Kilograms and not Pounds ~ so in actual fact Barney weighs two stones but is still overweight ~

It has been snowing here for the last 3 days some heavy some light but they say we have a lot more to come tonight ~

Poor Barney!!! I understand how he feels, I don't like going to the doctor's either. And I definitely don't like diets. LOL Have a great day, Ally.

Poor baby! My cat Tori hates the vet too. The other critters don't seem to mind at all.

Glad Barney recovered from his ordeal he won't like being on a diet much, but it might be fun taking longer walks with him.

Take care

Your Barney doesn't look overweight. Maybe it's just the winter and not so much exercise. I know I'm that way for sure. Cute pictures of the two of them. Our snow stopped for a couple of days. It's been a nice break.
So very tired of winter.

Our Jess hates going to the vet as well. I don't think very many animals like it. Jess is overweight as well. We try not to give her too many treats, and we need to be a bit better at it, but she is so sweet and compelling it is hard not to!

Hey Ally, somehow I missed that you had posted on January 14th about all those mishaps! Lets hope you got them all out of the way for the whole year. Hey, I can sympathize with Barney, I dont like going to the doctor either. I am due to go now for my yearly, but I am putting it off and putting it off, I need to just go on and go. So y'all are getting snow now. You keep it, I don't want it, lol. Tip has gained weight since it has gotten cold, I found out five pounds worth, when we went about her urinary tract infection. She is on a leaner can dog food now, and gets only half a can a day instead of a whole can. Her dry food stays the same though. We just need to get out more, but its just always so nasty out this time of year. Love, Kelly

Our Sally is a most peculiar dog! She is 15 yyears old snd behaves more like 15 months. She adores the vet - all that lovely cuddlin' and tummy ticklin'. She doesn't mind at all having her bits and bobs felt or her teeth looked at - and there's not a spare ounce on her. Makes you sick don't it!

love, Angie, xx

I feel for Barney - must have a good memory of those injections, lol. Glad he took it like a trooper. I have read about the awful snowstorm that's at your doorstep. Hope it disappears, soon. Keep warm, please!

Thank you for visiting my journal. Salty is awful about letting me clip a long dew claw that can become ingrown. It takes 2 people to do it. I have to let his claws grow, or pay the Veterinarian to do it. At home I get someone to hold him to cut just the one. He is a very strong dog at 45 pounds. He will be 6 years old this year according to estimate as he was a stray. My left hip is very bad this morning and I will be seeing my doctor on Monday. He can refer me to the specialist. It has been getting worse the last year, and I cannot ignore it anymore. Actually I am glad that I know it is not my back that is my worse problem, but pain from my hip that is affecting me. I am still doing as much walking as possible, along with other exercise daily. Salty needs the walks also. He can run when he gets excited inside his large pen. Indoors he is a good dog, sleeping most of the time. mark

I can't believe how very grown that boy of yours has gotten! Last time I saw him, he was a fiesty puppy! He doesn't look very fat to me. Sounds more like job security for the "Fath Nurse". Thank you, dear, for the plug! You're a star!

My little JR, Gus, used to start shaking when we got to a certain pub near the vets'. Then they moved, and he soon learnt the route, and started shaking at the last roundabout before we got there! I fear terriers do get stout, my daughter has a tiny brown one, who has started to look like a fat cigar.
