Tom came and picked Lyn and myself up as we wanted to go the Argos ~ Sainsbury's and The Range ~Tom needed to go shopping as well so we decided to all go together ~ we got out into the country and there seemed to be a holdup of the traffic the cars in front of us were moving very slowly ~ when we came to the reason the traffic was moving so slowly it turmed out it was a small black dog running up and down the road ~ we pulled into the side of the road and Tom opened his door called the little dog over and it happily jumped into the car ~ Tail wagging and it looked very pleased and made quite a fuss of the four of us ~ Abbie who was with us and was really concerned and worried about the dog ~ and wanted to know how we were going to look after it ~ and to find it's owner ~ Tom drove a short way down the road and stopped at a small block of houses ~ he intended to ask anyone who maybe at home if they knew who's dog it might be ~ when he returned he was followed by another man who looked into the car and realised that it was his dog and he called her Sophie and he was so pleased to see her and she was pleased to see him ~ and I must admit we breathed a sigh of relief knowing that she was back where she belonged little Sophie did not have a collar on so we were very lucky that Tom chose the right door to knock on ~

The main reason why I am doing an entry now is that someone (I know not who) has hacked into my e~mail I am just hoping that none of my friends here on blogger have not received any e~mails from me that I have not personally sent ~ I wonder why people do this sort of thing ~

I know Kath (Mother Hen) received one ~ but she realised it was not from me ~ so deleted it and then told me about it ~ I do think I have blocked the pest who Hacked into my e~mail ~ I do so hope I have ~

You all take care of yourselves and if I don't do another entry before Christmas I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a Properous New Year ~

I am home but not exactly alone ~ I do have the company of our two little Dogs Nin and Barney who are both sound asleep in their beds ~

Lyn has gone to the Theatre Royal with her friend Jackie ~ to see David Essex ~ I did not really want to see him ~ so that is why I am home almost alone :O)

I have been busy having done some cooking ~ and prepared dinner for tonight ~
So all in all I have enjoyed my time alone

A DAY OUT AT THE SEASIDE

Lyn and I had a lovely day out with old friends ~ we picked the Coach up at the Greens in Aylsham ~ and then drove on to Cromer ~ we went to the End of the Pier Show (Which I am told is the only End of the Pier show in England and has been going for 34 years)

I was great fun the show was really great and the Ventriloquist was just brilliant ~ it is what a would call and old fashioned show but we enjoyed it ~

We then went on the to Red Lion Hotel in Cromer and had a Fish and Chip supper It was so big I for one could not eat it all ~

but everyone else on our table managed to clear their plates ~

This was the Venue ~ and as you looked down through the slats of wood you could see the ocean below ~ but the sea was quite calm ~ and the sun actually came out as we left the show ~

so the next get together we will have will be Christmas and this one we really are looking forward to~ it is always good to meet up with old friends ~

We put Tom’s Tent up in the garden to try it out ~ once it was up and a table and a nice warm blanket was put in the entrance Barney made for it and cuddled down and spent the rest of the Afternoon there ~

I had a wonderful day yesterday Lyn and I and all the girls in our family gathered at my Niece’s Home ~ we have these meetings quite often ~ so we don’t lose touch with each other ~ it was not organised for my Birthday but everyone brought me a card and a gift ~ there was plenty of food and everyone there had a really good time ~ A cake was brought through and of course I had to blow out a candle ~

So I consider myself to be very Lucky Lady with such a lovely family ~

Is anyone else having trouble commenting on blogs ~ “I am” I go into comment ~ then when I click to enter comment it goes back to blogger then I have to enter my email and password then it tells me to enter so once again I click to enter then it goes back to blogger I then have to enter my email and password again but this goes on and I cannot make my comment ~

Our visit to the Theatre Royal

Lyn and I met up with about 20 friends to have a tour round The Theatre Royal ~ many times a few years ago I used to go see productions there~ mostly the Pantomime or perhaps a musical ~

but I never realised how much work went into producing one of these shows

We went on stage ~ saw the Wardrobe mistress looking after the clothes and the wigs used in the productions ~ we saw the stage door and the side wings and everything that goes on while a production is in progress

our tour guide was so full of everything connected with the Theatre ~ he knew how many people could be seated in the theatre and anything else we asked him questions about ~ he said he loved working here in Norwich as the productions changed every week ~ and said he would hate to work in London where the productions could last for weeks or even months ~

We never dreamed we could enjoy a visit so much ~ at the end of the tour we went to the restaurant where they had laid on a meal for us ~ which was most enjoyable ~ it was a stew and dumplings ~ don’t sound very exciting but it was delicious ~ and sitting with friends made it most enjoyable ~ Next year we have been told another tour has been arranged and I for one must say I shall look forward to visiting the Theatre again

I never wanted to go on the stage and seeing the work that goes on behind stage I NEVER WANT TOO

Amber celebrated her 14th Birthday Yesterday 21st May ~ today lots of her family and friends gathered to have a celebratory BBQ ~ the day started off Dull with a little rain ~ which was disappointing as we have been having some lovely Sun filled days ~But by the time we had all gathered round the Sun came out and it was quite warm ~

Blue Boy was on guard hoping someone would drop a morsel or two so that he would get a treat ~

Lewie on the other hand (their other dog) decided he wanted to help himself to some food before it all went ~ so he stole some Sausages and Burgers (11 Sausages and the same amount of burgers) (he is a very big dog :O) and Tom had to go back to the shop to get some replacements ~ so Lewie was banished from the garden and the food ~

Here is Lewie who is now indoors ) Looking very sorry for himself ~

Picture just to let you know how big Lewie is ~ he had no ill effects from eating all those burgers and sausages :O)

We all had a lovely day ~ Amber went into the City Yesterday and spent all of her Birthday money But she was very happy ~ and bought herself some nice Bargains (All clothes of course and the odd bit of jewellery) ~ but it was good to see her so contented ~ and happy with her life ~

I would like to have these celebrations every Sunday ~ but I think that would be too much work ~ So I look forward to the next Birthday and a family get together ~

Gathering of the Aunts Nieces Sisters and Daughters

Today we as a family (the Girls) met up to catch up with what is going on in our lives ~ so we do not lose touch with each other ~ we had a lovely day with lots of Laughter and lots of good food ~ we do this about 4 or 5 times a year at different Houses ~ and always enjoy ourselves ~

Now I must tell you of a small incident that happened on our way there ~ we were driving along the main road into Dereham and this little tan coloured terrier was crossing the road ~ very slowly ~ we pulled up as did the cars coming towards us ~

The little dog padded into a garden and we thought and hoped perhaps it was where it lived ~ Lyn hopped out of the car and knocked on the door (Twice) ~ The lady came to answer it and said I got here as quickly as I could (We don’t think she appreciated ringing her bell twice :O)~ but when Lyn asked her if the little dog belonged to her ~ she was shocked as she did not know it had got out of her Garden ~ and she explained to Lyn that it was Blind and Deaf ~ and she was very thankful that we found it’s home ~ (The Little Dogs name is Pepper)

I was happy that he was safe with his owner ~

It had been a lovely day ~and we are just home from shopping ~ Lyn has now taken her friend to the Hospital as she has to have an injection in her eye ~ (Which Lyn tells me it is very painful) she does go in with her friend to watch ~

Looking round the garden I liked what I saw

Rose Bush absolutely full of blooms just behind the letter box

One of the flowers isn’t it beautiful

One branch of The apple tree is full of fruit ~ as is all of the tree the plum tree (Victoria Plums) they look so small but in a few weeks time they will be Large and ready to eat

The Cherry tree once again full of fruit ~ last year the birds came and took the cherries ~ they ate the fruit and left the stalk and pip on the tree ~ which I thought was very good of them :O)

It has been a really nice sunny day today and I noticed all the blossom has suddenly opened on the trees in the garden and they looked so pretty I thought I would share them with you

It has been really very cold and wet and also the wind has whistled around every corner ~ and unfortunately for me it does at this time of the year effect my Asthma and so as the same as last year I ended up in Hospital ~ they kept me in for a week and I have now been home just on a week and am beginning to feel like my old self again ~ Lyn has been a treasure and I know without her being here I could not have come home ~ so thankyou Lyn

Hello everyone just popping in to say Hi

It seems such a long time since I updated my blog ~ but just wanted to update the things going on here ~

Lyn picked up s cold and a Virus which has laid her really low ~ it is now nearly three weeks and she has to wait for another blood test before he (The Doctor) can determine how to best treat her ~

I picked up the cold but am lots better now ~

I often tell you about Nin and Barney ~ Barney has a new trick up his (I was going to say sleeve:O) but I guess it should be fur Leg paw ???

We have a cupboard next to the Kitchen where we keep books ~ DVD’s and lots of other odds and ends a couple of Vacuum cleaners ~ but mostly this is where we keep the dog Biscuits and doggie treats ~ well Barney has learnt if the climbs up on to one of the cleaners he can reach the biscuits so helps himself ~ and he looks very pleased with himself ~ we wondered why his tummy was expanding ~ and he goes to the Vet next week for his injections ~ and the Vet is always Stern with us about Barneys weight ~ as his legs are very long and he must not be overweight ~ so Hard Luck Barney the door is now permanently closed ~ It was just by chance we noticed what he was up to :O) ~

Barney is never at a loss on how to get extra food ~ even taking biscuits out of Williams hand ~

Last Sunday a week ago tomorrow we were cooking Sunday Lunch and I sat happily watching the Yorkshire Puddings rising but all of a sudden the lights in the oven went off and the oven no longer worked ~ although the Hob was OK so we had to go without the Yorkshires and I made some little suet dumplings instead

A Chap who lives in a nearby Village came in during the week and fixed it for us :

Our Shopping Spree ??????

Lyn and I arranged to meet up with 0ur Granddaughter in the City as she wanted to buy a Dress for a Dinner she was going to that very next night ~ (She left shopping for it to a very late date:O)

Lyn and I decided to drive to Norwich Airport and catch the Park and Ride Bus ~ into the City as this would save us looking round for a parking space ~

We arrived very early and went to look round one or two shops ~ then we went into the Forum to have a cup of Coffee ~

It was the very first time I had gone into the Forum and it was a very pleasant surprise Lovely and warm and lots of stalls selling no end of different gifts ~

Anyway we eventually caughtup with Granddaughter and went into her very favourite shop "Next" ~ after trying on at least six different dresses she didn't like any of them ~ so we left and crossed the Road to Debenhams ~ collecting Dresses which I thought were lovely but she didn't :O( ~ so we once again crossed the Road to M&S where I thought she would definitely find something that she wanted and liked:O)

But No after trying on several more dresses we called it a day ~ Granddaughter gave us a lift back to the Park and Ride ~ and we went back home ~

We later learned that Granddaughter had got up at 11pm and went to Supermarket where she did in fact find a dress that she loved ~

Believe it or Not we really had a great evening ~ It was nice just to meet up and chat ~

I had an e~mail From Kath "Mother Hen" who has been having quite a lot of health problems and has not been on the Computer ~ she asked me to give you all her love and to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and A Happy New Year and to say how much she missus all

What a lovely Day

Looking out of the Lounge window today ~ Oh my gosh it is sooo cold and the wind is so strong it nearly knocked me over :O)

Lyn and I had a Great day today ~ we went to the Quality Inn Hotel to have a Christmas Dinner with old friends ~ the Back roads here are very dangerous as we have had quite a lot of snow ~ but once you get on the main roads all is OK ~ they have been gritted and are very safe ~ we had the Four Wheel Drive today so felt really safe driving along ~

It does not seem possible that Christmas is just around the corner ~ it seems only a short while ago we were waiting for the New Year 2010 now 2011 is nearly here ~ time just seems to fly by ~

We have nearly finished our Christmas shopping and Lyn has wrapped all the presents we have bought ~ mostly on line shoppiing which is really very handy with the weather being as bad as it is ~

We have had some gliches with Banking but I am glad to say they have been resolved to our satisfaction

Barney again

Don't he look comfortable

I know I often tell you about Barney how he Barks at the postman or for that matter he barks at anyone who dares to put a foot on our Drive way ~ and as the Caravan has now gone out of our garden he has a much better view ~ so everyone who passes by gets barked at ~ plus of course he Barks at the Hoover ~ But Oh how he seems to hate the Hoover !!!!!! ~ we have tried many ways to try to stop this but where ever he is in the house you only have to touch the Hoover and he's there ~

The pictures are of him cuddled down in his bed and can you see that little red toy just near the Rug ~ well everytime we go out ~ on our return he brings this toy to us ~

and wags his tail because he is pleased to see us ~ actually he brings his toy to any visitor ~ but he won't part with it just keeps it in his mouth ~

When Lyn and I go out he is at the window watching us depart ~ I often wonder what is going on in his little mind ~ probably want's to know why we are leaving him at home ~

Nin and Barney have identical beds bought from the RSPCA but they know which one is their's ~ and they only seem to occupy there own ~

We have been very Lucky with the dogs we have had over the years ~ they bring such a lot of pleasure ~ they are so Loyal and faithful ~ and I might add they guard us ~ or at least the noise they make barking when strangers are about would frighten anyone away ~

Love this picture of Nin

remembering
I love to sit back and let my mind wander to the days long gone when I lived at home with my brothers and sisters ~ Our brothers were very protective of us girls ~ where ever we went in the City we would always come across one of them making sure they knew we were safe ~ we would meet up at a cafe' in Prince of Wales Road for a cup of tea before going home for Sunday Lunch

Sunday was very different then as everything was closed except the Museum ~ and the odd cafe ~ Thinking back to those days we had wonderful Christmas's Mum and Dad didn't have much cash to throw around but they did give us all the love we needed ~
when you think they had eight children but not one of us lacked the knowledge of knowing we were all loved ~

Dad was so patient with us all even when my brothers would borrow one of his shirts or his best jacket ~ or even his best pair of shoes ~ and Mum had a knack of being able to stop us dead with one of her looks if we did anything that didn't meet with her approval ~ I wish I had inherited that knack ~

my brother Tony who is 5 years older than me went to Heigham House School before Joy and me but he was terrible for playing traunt from school Mum would have to take him to the Front gate and see him in ~ but what Mum didn't know was the back entrance was always open and Tony would go in the front gate and immediately go to the back gate and leave the school premises ~

the funny thing was that he was the only one of us to attend the school reunions ~ which never ceased to make us laugh ~ I hope our teachers were pleased to see him as they very rarely got that privaledge during his school years ~

going back to our Christmas's we used to join together these chains to decorate the ceiling of our house and had many happy nights getting ready for Christmas ~ Mum would bake mince pies sausage rolls and all the other goodies that made our christmas ~ but would have to lock them away from us kids as we would have eaten them all if they had been in the pantry ~

such happy memories I am glad to have the ability to remember them all and to remember my parents for the love and understanding they gave us I know my brothers and sisters would approve of me writing this as they were all like me very glad to have had such wonderful parents

Such a great day out

It is a week tomorrow that we went on a trip to Cromer ~ it was arranged that we meet the Coach in Aylsham then go on from there to see the End of the Pier show ~ It turned out to be a beautiful day the Sun shone from morn till night we suggested we went and sun bathed on the beach and give the show a miss ~

We came last year to see this show and really enjoyed it ~ It is gentle comedy ~ Dancing ~ and singing ~

Not something todays youngsters would enjoy ~ but we all had a good day out and ended with a Crab salad supper in a nearby Hotel ~

We met up with friends as we do about 3 times a year ~ it is always nice to see old friends and to catch up with each other ~

Our next day out together will be our arranged Chrismas Dinner ~ It does not seem possible that is not so very far off now ~ where does the time go ~ it just seems to fly by ~

Both Lyn and myself enjoy meeting up with old colleagues of Dick's ~ it seems to bring us closer together ~ Lyn was always a Daddies girl and she likes to keep in touch with his friends ~ as I do

The School Holidays are nearly over

It seems ages since the Children Broke up for their holidays and now it is nearly time for them to go back to School ~ and I think they really are looking forward to the new term ~

We have been out and about up and down Country Lanes and exploring the countryside ~ in this part of the world there are many places to visit ~ if you like the seaside we are only a few miles away from the Sea and Sand ~ but I prefer the countryside ~ We went through a small village and in one of the gardens we found this cow with her calf just by the side of the road ~ it seemed an odd place to have a stable but she looked very content as did her calf ~

I hope to have more time to devote to my blog ~

Another addition to our family

We have aquired a Corn Snake he did belong to Sam our Grandson ~ but he no longer wanted him as he is out and about a lot and no time for all the work required to take care of him~

He is lovely, I didn't think I could take to a snake but he is so friendly and he only needs to be fed once a week ~ he has a lovely home with Branches to slither along a dome thing !!!! to go into when he wants to ~ and all in all he looks quite comfortable and Happy ~ (how do you know if a snake is happy ~ I have no idea but I just like to think he is)

He has such a cute little face and his colours are lovely ~ Nin and Barney just ignore him ~ I am very happy to say :o)

We have been having some awful weather here we stopped at a store coming home, when we went in it was bright and sunny coming out 10 minutes later is was pouring down with rain ~ we stood under the cover of the Store but the rain was relentless so Lyn ran to the car but unfortunately slipped on the wet ground and hit her face she cannot remember how she cut her nose and I would think she may end up with a blackeye ~ she thinks she slipped when she opened the door and hit herself in the face ~ but she is feeling OK now you can't keep her down for long and on the way home she was laughing at doing such a stupid thing ~ but I do know how much it hurt her :O(

Must make a couple of notes of what has happened these last two weeks ~ Firstly Cressie my Granddaughter was rushed to hospital with sever pains in her chest and having difficulty breathing ~ After lots of tests they diagnosed Pleurisy and I am glad to say she is much better now

Secondly Nin had an appointment at the Vets as he was having some trouble with his teeth ~ the Vet checked him out and said an operation was necessary as some of his teeth needed to be removed ~ the upshot was and is she had to remove 14 teeth and said she had never seen anything like it in a dog it was something that only cats ever suffered from ~ anyway we took him back to see the vet a week later and she was very pleased with his progress ~ told us he was healing very well ~ (that set us back £420.00) pity our animals didn't have a NHS ~ I am sure it must be very hard for some to be able to foot the bills the Vets present us with ~

Barney is being a nurse to Nin and is everywhere Nin is ~ actually it is lovely to watch as Barney snuggles as close to Nin as he can get ~ and is determined to be his shadow ~ they are such good friends ~ when Nin was in the Vets poor Barney didn't know what to do with himself he paced from room to room looking for his old friend ~

The top picture is Lewie he is the new addition to Tom's Family he is a rescued Labradoodle and is going to be a big boy ~ he is just 7 months old ~ you cannot really see his colouring in this picture but I will get a better picture of him at a later date ~ and I am glad to say him and Blue ~ Tom's other dog seem to be getting on very well together so I am sure they will end up being the very best of friends ~

Lovely Sunny Thursday

Above is picture of William fast asleep and next to him fast asleep is Nin don't they just look so contented ~ they spent the whole night together curled together ~

It has been a lovely Sunny Day today ~ Tom came to visit us today and brought with him his New addition to his family he has adopted a "Labrador Poodle" or Labradoodle which was in need of rescuing he is a lovely Boy and cannot understand how anyone could ill treat him in any way ~ he is such a contented little boy (Well not so little ) he is seven months old and

"Blue" Tom's own dog is slowly getting to accept him ~ I do so hope they will eventually be the best of friends ~

"Lewey" is so tall that all he has to do is get on his back legs and he can reach the back of the units in the Kitchen and he can also undo the Back door ~ So we have to make sure we don't leave anything out that he can eat :o) he also was helping himself to the food from the sack of dog food in the cupboard which Barney and Nin cannot reach :o)

I will take a picture of him so you can see what an adorable Boy he is ~ He has Amder coloured eyes and has two toned brown and amber fur which is just starting to curl ~

He has won all of our hearts so I am sure he will have a good home for as long as he needs one I know for certain I could take him in ~

We were trying to clear out Lyn's Craft room ~ and as you can see Nin and Barney thought the stacks of wool made a perfect bed ~ Nin is in the first picture Barney is in the others ~

It took us all week to get the room tidy ~ but it is all nice and tidy now ~

He is not really in the Doghouse ~ you couldn't be angry with Barney he is such a happy little boy ~ and he did only eat the custard out of the middle of the custard tarts ~ He looked really pleased with himself when he saw us watching him ~ maybe he thought they were left there for him !!!!! ~

It was of course our own fault for not putting the chair back underneath the table and Barney would never miss the chance of getting something extra to eat ~ Nin isn't agile enough to jump up onto a chair so he missed out :o) but he will get a small treat which Barney will miss out on :o)

The snow has just about gone again although I did see on the News tonight that Scotland are still in the grip of Winter and getting lots of the white stuff ~I hope all our friends there are keeping safe and warm ~

I would not be surprised if we get some more here ~ it certainly feels cold enough ~

I only filled those bird feeders yesterday so you can see the birds are very busy looking for food ~

When they run short of seed the come and sit on my windowsill ~ letting me know it's time to go out and feed them :o)

I have been home for a few days but have not done anything ~ I felt really guilty for being so lazy but they let me come home on the understanding I rested for a few days ~

WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE SINCE sEPTEMBER

Lyn and I have been out and about ~ now that the nights have started to draw in
It is really dark by 4.30pm ~ so to get the most out of the day we have to start
early ~

So I have spent much less time on the computer than I did ~
but now I seem to have a little extra time so I must get my Blog back up to date ~
I could not recount all the things we have done other than to tell you where ever
we go we seem to get lost ~ the narrow country lanes look all the same and it is
so easy to take the wrong turn ~ but somehow (I don’t know how) we find our way
back home ~

The Countryside is so beautiful at this time of the year ~ the colours on the
trees are breathtaking ~ It certainly is worthwhile just taking a drive out to see them ~

I'll try to write more next time so until then take care of yourselves ~

It seems ages since I updated my Blog

Lyn and I have been out and about just lately, we went on a coach trip to Bressingham Steam Museum ~ and had a wonderful day out the Sun Shone non stop all day, ~ We ended the day with a meal at a Hotel which was very good ~

Then last week we went to Cromer (a small seaside town) once again we went on a coach trip and this time we visited the End of the Pier show ~ there was a very steep descent to the pier which was easy going down but the thought of having to climb it when the show was over was a bit daunting :o) we had a great day out and once again the weather was good for us ~ we ended the day with a Fish and Chip evening meal ~ and had some very good company the people on the Coach we have met before so it was good fun meeting up agaim ~ (The picture above if taken looking out to sea)

The Children are now back at School so should have more time to devote to my Blog ~ But it has been great having them here during the Summer Holidays ~

Dicks Camera

Sunday, 2 August 2009 Dick's Camera I had to make a note of what happened with Dick's Camera ~ it is now over six years since he left us and we miss him so very much ~ I knew where the camera was but never thought about what may be hidden inside ~ Tom my Grandson realised there was a spool stilll inside the camera so suggested we take it to the shop and get it developed ~ so we took it to a shop in Fakenham I never thought for one moment that it could still be developed ~ the man in the shop had difficulty removing the spool and told us the camera was broken ~ I suppose after six years of just laying around it had deteriorated ~ so I had little hope of any of the pictures coming out ~ The following week we returned to Fakenham and Tom went into the shop to pick the pictures up ~ I fully expected none of them to come out ~ But they did ~ each and everyone of them even some that Tom had taken to finish up spool up ~ They were mostly of the Grandchildren they were just babies but it was so good to see them and there was one of Dick and myself sitting on the Sofa celebrating one Christmas ~ You can imagine how pleased we were ~ Tom and I stood outside the shop looking at the pictures ~ we were just so pleased and happy I cannot tell you how pleased we both were ~ It was like having him back ~ I wonder if he planned this for us so long after he left us ~ I like to think he did ~ There was one very Happy Wife Daughter and Grandson ~ who could have thought such a small thing could bring so much happiness ~

It has been a lovely Sunny day today so I took some pictures in the Garden The Apple tree is so full of fruit the branches nearly touch the ground ~ As for my Grape Vine which is in the Greenhouse I have never seen so many bunches of Grape on it as it has this year ~ funnily enough Lyn didn't prune it back this year so I am very pleased at the outcome ~ Will be able to make some Apple and Grape Wine when they are both Ripe ~ Hope everyone is well ~ I have been having some problems with my computer but they all seem to be sorted now ~ I hope so I hate being with out my PC ~ Do you remember the tub Barney was sitting on Sunning himself ~ well this is the Plant that eventually grew up we sould have some potato's to dig up soon :o)

Here Barney is lapping up the Sunshine ~ That tub he is sitting in has a potato planted in it ~ he has never sat in a tub before ~ well not one with soil in it ~ he do'es look comfortable though I must say :o)

when I was at the Hospital a couple of weeks ago because I had fractured my wrist ~ Tom my Grandson came in with Sam my Great Grandson who had been in a Rugby tackle at school and injured his foot ~

Sam has been in the wars as two weeks ago he was riding his friends Cycle and the front wheel came off ~ it all happened so quickly and he hit the pavement and knocked himself out his friend had the presence of mind to ring an ambulance and contact the police and he even rang Cressie Sam's Mum to let her know what had happened ~ when you think he is only 14 years old I think he did very well ~ Sam fractured his left hand (and he is left handed) and his face was cut very badly ~ but I am glad to say he is healing very quickly ~ and lapping up being waited on hand and foot :o)

I hope that is the end of the accidents ~ Times I wish we could wrap them in cotton wool ~ but I know that is not possible ~

I had a collision with a door and ended up fracturing my right wrist which has made it very difficult to type or to be honest to do very much of anything as it is splintered and very difficult to move ~

But I am still reading and trying to comment so please forgive me if I havn't been able to comment on your Blog ~

Hopefully it won't be too long until I get this split off and can lead a normal Life ~

The vidio above is Lyn and William enjoying the Trampoline all the Children seem to be having a great time and I love to watch them but rest assured I shall not be going on it for a long time to come

Nin and Barneys visit to the "FAT" Nurse ~ and a few days away for me

Lyn got her Trampoline as you can see William is having a great time ~ the netting obscures the picture a bit but it is a safety measure to protect him from falling off the edge ~

Nin and Barney visited the "FAT" Nurse they had both lost 2 and a half inches from their body size Barney had lost weight the Nurse was really pleased with him ~ but Nin had not lost any weight at all the Nurse said it was possible he was building up muscle he is a really sturdy little boy ~

I shall be away for a while I am going to visit my Sister Joy but will be back during next week ~

Sunny Day and Allergies

Here’s William sitting in the Hallway using Lyn’s Makeup ~ He is such a lovely little boy and can entertain himself for hours ~

There is just one problem with all this Sunshine and flowers blooming they bring out lots of pollen and set off any allergies

especially my Asthma ~ but luckily this time I did manage to go see the Nurse who is qualified to give out prescriptions ~ so for the last week I have nearly finished a course of Antibiotics and Steroids ~ no need to call for assistance from the paramedics ~

Lyn has bought herself a Trampoline which should have been delivered last Friday but it didn’t arrive ~ they now tell us it will be here to~morrow Monday (We shall have to wait and see)

With this nice weather time now to think about filling the swimming pool ~ or will that be tempting the fates ~ last year when we did just that the weather changed and we hardly had any Summer weather ~

I let Barney and Nin into the Garden Barney shot out of the door and the next thing I saw was Barney throwing a little field mouse into the air he then picked it up by the tail and was shaken it (poor little thing) ~ I managed to get him to leave it and with trepidation picked it up by the tail went out into the front garden and put it into the hedge it scampered away so I am hoping it will be OK ~ (you might think I am a fool worrying about one small mouse) but I do hate to see anything hurt ~

I love this picture of me and my Big Sister Joy ~ she only looks bigger because her chair is taller than mine :o)

we have been more than sisters we have been great friends ~ and I love her dearly ~ when I was in hospital she was there for me trying to take away any pain that I had ~ she would willing have taken it away and took away the cancer that was trying to take me away from her ~ I know for certain that it was because of her I am still here to enjoy her company ~ her encouragement and her prayers always made me feel strong ~

I would not dare to have left her she would never have forgiven me ~

We have five brothers and an older sister and we were always a very close family and we were always there for each other ~ but Joy and I were the youngest two girls in the family we went to School together and when we left School we worked for the same company for a while ~

I just want her to know how much she means to me and how glad I am she is part of my life ~

I was prompted to write this post today as I had a Hospital appointment today and everything was fine and I do not have to go back for another year ~ it is amazing the things that go through your mind before an appointment and the relief of knowing all is well ~

Barney went missing today ~ we searched the garden the workshop and all the little nooks and crannies where we though he would be ~

We eventually found him in the last place we expected he would be

Very comfortable as you can see :o)

He had found his way upstairs and made himself very comfortable in one of the beds up their ~

we were just pleased he was safe as he does mean such a lot to us !!!!!!!!

Barney is not quite so patient he do'es not like to be too far away from Nin

We took the rest of the pets along with us :o)

It was weigh in day at the Vets ~ both of the boys are overweight ~ Barney has to lose 7lbs and Nin 5lbs

they did not have a note of Barneys weight from the last visit ~ but we know he has lost quite a lot as his tum is not as big as it was ~

These visits to the "Fat" Nurse are free ~ they like to keep and eye on our pets ~ all we have to do is buy the Diet food and at £54 I am glad they are free ~ Mind you it is a huge big bag so should last quite a while ~

Here is William we Baby sat him while Mum and Dad were at work ~ he is a pleasure to have ~ and makes himself at home ~ had to put the guard up to protect him from the wood burner ~ as he kept wanting to undo the door ~ he goes to bed early and wakes up late ~ what more could any Mother ask for

We had to take Barney to the vets for his injections ~ and he is terrified going there ~ I can't understand why as they are such a lovely lot of people and are so kind ~ but he only has to enter the doors and he starts to shake ~ Lyn and I took him in my little car and he sat on Lyn's knee but he worried all the way ~ when we arrived at the vets I sat in the car and Lyn took Barney into to see the vet ~

I sat there for a good 20 minutes so thought I would go in to see how things were going ~ well Barney was still on Lyn's knee shaking like a leaf ~

he eventually had his injections and was really a very good boy ~ but he couldn't get out of the doors quick enough ~ I had to smile as the vet told Lyn he was overweight and had to go on a diet ~ she got a phone call today asking her to go to the surgery and have a consultation with his fat nurse ~ (Nurse is not fat) just Barney ~ he weighs 4 stone I am not sure what he should weight but I am sure it is not 4 stone ~ but I hasten to add they had made a mistake using Kilograms and not Pounds ~ so in actual fact Barney weighs two stones but is still overweight ~

William had just had his bath ~ who gave him a chocolate bar ??? (I'm not guilty :o)

Lucky on his favourite persons knee my Nephew Tim (couple of pictures from last year)

You know how they say things happen in threes ~ well that is certainly what has happened in this household

No 1 The washing machine packed up

No 2 The Cooker packed up

No 3 Now what was Number 3 ~ Oh Yes I remember it was the moniter on Lyn's computer just cracked for no apparent reason ~

The washing machine was sorted easily the chappie who does the repairs suggested the filter was clogged up ~ and this proved to be the case ~ there was quite a bit of small change retrieved 5p's 20p's and pennies ~

Lyn's Moniter was replaced at a cost of £80 ~ so all is well with that now

But the Cooker needed replacement ~ so we ordered a new one ~

they came and fitted it and all seemed well

That is until we cooked on it ~ there were several of us sitting around the Kitchen table ~ when all of a sudden the back burner caught fire ~

luckily we were able to put the flames out ~

contacted the shop where we purchased it ~ this is a shop we use frequently ~ and the manager was horrified that this had happened ~

He contacted us today saying he had contacted the manufacturers ~ they are going to test all of the stock they have in this model to make sure it is not just a one off fault ~ and he will be here Friday to fit another one ~

We have the caravan in the garden so looks like we will be cooking in there for the next couple of days ~

Hope that is the end of these mishaps ~ Isn't it amazing how these things always seem to happen in three's ~

Goodbyes are very hard

Saying goodbye
Tomorrow would have been my Wedding anniversay - Dick and I spent many happy years together the last 12 years of his life were very hard for him, He was a strong man and other than having Mumps when he was 44 years old he never had an illness. never took time of work.
When he had his first heart attack he had been working in the garden - Lyn happened to glance
out of the window and saw her Dad holding his chest and not looking too well. She ran up the
garden to see what the matter was...he said he was OK, but she knew he was far from that, and
said she was going to telephone me at work - he insisted she didn't - but she did anyway. I told
her to ring the Doctor and I would be home shortly.I raced home, and by the time I arrived the Doctor was there, he confirmed that Dick had a heart attack and was going to ring for an Ambulance ...to take him to the hospital....and that he was to keep lying down until it arrived....well he didn't and when the ambulance arrived he answered the
door, he was well Suntanned and looked extremely well, they asked him where the patient was,
Dick told them he was the patient, they insisted that he lie down in the ambulance as they would
get wrong if anything should happen to him. on the way - he went to the Hospital against his will I might add, and was kept in for about 10 days,

His second heart attack was about 2 years later, he was planning a surprise birthday party for me, but as he was taken back into hospital this never took place.... While in hospital he suffered a
Stroke....he was not paralyzed, but it did effect his brain and speech, he could not speak and when he tried to the words would come out all jumbled and not as he intended them to. it took months of speech therapy and all of his will to overcome this....which to some degree he did....It did effect his hearing ~ funnily enough he could always understand what I said to him.
We go ahead a couple of more years, Dick picked me up from work and said he had not been
feeling well all day... during that evening he was taken bad and collapsed in the bedroom - he was trying to get up off the floor and pushing very hard to do so, I tried to help him but being very small I was of little help.
..I phoned the Doctor who advised me to call an ambulance which I did - I rang Lyn to let her know what was happening - she said she would meet me at the hospital....I waited and waited for
the ambulance to arrive half an hour passed then nearly an hour - Lyn called and wanted to know what was happening.I explained the ambulance had not arrived.... she contacted our Doctor ...who then ordered an Ambulance - it arrived quite soon after that....the paramedics had quite a job to get Dick onto a stretcher...because by then he was barely conscious,
When we arrived at the hospital they did lots of tests, and admitted him onto a ward....
When we visited the next morning the Doctor asked us questions, and he said they understood
Dick had been abroad, I told them he couldn't hear very well and he had actually been on the
Norfolk Broads Not Abroad...
..The Doctor was surprised as Dick had contacted Legionnaire's desease - and this for most people is fatal
.....He was in intensive care for about a week - and thankfully got better against all the odds...and came out of hospital after about three weeks.
I remember sitting having breakfast with him one morning and remarked how well he had been for about a couple of months....when I glanced at his arms - they were covered in big red marks he had got shingles.
Time went on and we got on with life as best we could, Dick coped very well with his disabilities,
and always enjoyed the visits of our grandchildren and Great grandchildren. who he loved dearly.
He was having a bit of trouble with pain in his knees, and on a visit to the hospital they said they
would do a small operation on both knees to help with the pain - He was booked to go into hospital just before Christmas, but this was cancelled at the last moment and deferred until early February...
Christmas came and went and February arrived ,,,Dick went into hospital....the operation went
well, But he caught a bug and was put into isolation, he was very ill and later transfered to Critical care, he then caught another bug, and was put on life support....It was up and down - some days we we were told he was improving ....the next he was getting worse...then holding his own...., this went on for a month - one day when Lyn and I went
into see him he pulled me towards him and gave me a huge big kiss then he did the same to Lyn....
Later on we were called into see the Doctor who told us there was nothing more they could do as
all of Dicks organs were shutting down.
..How do you say goodbye to someone you loved so dearly...and I never imagined us not being together....(we had been together since I was 16) .it is an impossibility......One I have yet to come to terms with..
He had lapsed into a coma.....
He didn't regain consciousness and died March 3rd 2003
The year before Lyn's husband Richard died in April from a massive heart attack - they told us it was so quick he would not have felt a thing he was a big strong man - A farmer who worked all hours that God sent him.
Lyn and I decided she to sell her cottage on the farm and me to sell my bungalow - we put
the money together and bought the Bungalow we live in today. It is a Big place with 5 bedrooms - but we both felt we needed our own space and needed a new beginning......

Lyn and William

Now where shall I begin ~ are you sitting comfortably ~ we were privileged to Baby sit William Christmas Eve and Christmas day Adam was also with us ~ as Vicky drove down to see her family a 600 mile round trip ~ but she is back home today ~

It was fun watching William undo his Christmas presents ~ well I said undo more like ripping them apart ~ mind you he was not interested in the contents he seemed happy enough just tearing the paper apart

One relative had packed an Empty box for him which he did play with ~ next year we have decided to just pack empty boxes ~ Maybe as he will be two and a Half years old next Christmas he will be more interested in the contents than he was this year

Having a small child in the house on Christmas day was just lovely ~ we all enjoyed it so much ~ he is such a happy little boy ~ sleeps the whole night through ~ and he makes us laugh especially when we walks around the house with one hand in his Jeans pocket just like a little old man ~

Adam is making a remarkable recovery ~ and the scar on his forehead and hand look so much better ~ so Christmas had been very Happy at our house I hope you all had a wonderful one as well ~

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Update on Adam

Adam is still with us ~ but going home tonight ~ (after we have had Dinner:o)

he is making a good recovery ~ I have been busy and unable to get to the computer much ~

above is a picture of his car ~ Makes me wonder how he survived ~ and is getting along so well ~

will catch up with everyone as soon as I can

Update on Adam ~

He is a very Lucky Young Man to be alive ~ he was driving along a country lane and on a bend he came face to face with a sugarbeet lorry and swerved to miss it ~ but there was nowhere for him to go ~ His car was crushed and he was trapped inside ~ His airbag failed to open ~

he has a cut from the middle of his temple right down and through his eyebrow ~ he has a broken hand plus a big cut on that hand and it is very swollen ~ plus other cuts and bruises ~ He has had a scan as they suspected a small bleed in his brain ~ he is really down ~ He said he can't remember a thing about the actual collision ~

He is coming to stay with us Wednesday through to the weekend as Vicky is going home to see her parents and is being a Bridesmaid to one of her family ~ so it is a trip that cannot be cancelled ~

Rest assured we will take good care of him until she returns ~ and no doubt we will spoil him :o)

The power of Prayer

A very dear young friend of ours was involved in a very bad car accident this morning ~ he sustained head injuries ~ suspected hand@arm fracture ~ Lacerations and other injuries ~ he has had a scan and is being kept in hospital ~ Adam is such a lovely young man and Father ~ thank goodness he did not have his Son in the car with him ~ as he had to be cut free from the wreckage ~ a prayer or two would be very much appreciated at this moment ~ Ally x

This picture if of my Dearest Mum and Dad celebrating a very special wedding anniversary ~ their Diamond Wedding ~ they were so devoted to each other ~ they met while Mum was a Land Girl ~ and Dad was in the Army ~

My Dad and Dick got on very well together they both loved to go fishing ~ and as we had a boat Dad enjoyed it all the more ~ Every weekend they would load the car with their fishing gear and off they would go ~ I tagged along sometimes as I really enjoyed fishing ~ I didn't like putting those maggots on the hook though

:o( ~ but I had to if I wanted to join in ~

When we were Children Dad would take my younger brother Ivor and my Sister Joy and me fishing with him so we learnt at an early age that we had to sit still and not make a lot of noise ~ I think Mum made him take us so she could have some time to herself ~ but when we arrived home which as late in the day she would have a lovely Sunday Roast on the table waiting for us ~

I love to look back on those happy days and the fun we had ~ coming from a very large family we didn't miss out on anything there was enough love to go round ~ we were never short of anything ~ maybe we didn't have as many toys as others ~ but Love made up for that ~

My Auntie Violet is still alive and I am going to see her so she can tell me all the names of the Children ~ I can only guess as I was not alive when they were young ~

I love this picture and my Granny Gee sitting in the middle with the child on her knee ~ my Sister Joy and I always visited her Sunday mornings and she would always give us a slice of seed cake which we ate on the way home ~ we both hated the seeds in the cake and would pick them out ~ and there were hundreds of them ~ and they tasted of aniseed ~ can still taste them today :o) and they were horrible

:o( there were more seed than cake but we must have been hungry because we always finished it before we got home ~

I do not remember my Grandad Gee he died before I was born but oh my Gosh he does look like one of my five brothers ~ and my Borther Dennis would agree with me ~ as they look so alike ~

Happy Halloween

Just popping in to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Halloween ~ hope you get lots of Treats and no Tricks :o)

Help yourself to the Candy ~ went to the Chocolate Factory to make sure I had plenty to hand out ~

I doubt we will have many if anyone call tonight ~ it is bitterly cold and as we live out in the sticks and at the end of a long country lane

(they call it a Road but in my book it is a Lane :o)

~ and the nights are drawing in ~ it is now 4.30pm and it is getting dark already ~

Last year we only had one little boy call and he went away happy with his stack of Goodies ~

Dear Blog i am making this entry so next year when my flu jab is due I can reread these notes and take heed :o) the card above is from my Dear Grandchildren ~

Two weeks ago it was Saturday morning I woke with and awful sore throat and a real bad cold ~ I cannot remember the last time I had a cold ~

the following Saturday I was due to have my Flu injection ~ but doubted they would give it to me as when the time came my cold was not any better ~ but the Nurse took my temperature and it was normal so she said it would be OK to go ahead ~ As Lyn pointed out to me she said " you might as well have both to cope with at the same time" ~

some days passed and I was feeling pretty rough ~ by the Thursday I couldn't catch my breath and was having some difficulty breathing ~ Lyn popped her head in the door and asked if I would like her to ring the Doctor to make an appointment ~ which I readily agreed was a very good idea ~

She rang the Doctor and got through just before the surgery opened and was asked questions by the person at the other end of the phone ~ when she mentioned my breathing problems she said an ambulance was on the way they could not afford to wait on a Doctor's appointment ~

Bear in mind I live 13 miles from any large Town/City but the ambulance was here in a very very short time ~ Plus a paramedic ~ all in all there were 5 people in my room ~ one nice chappie gave me some oxygen which I remember was lovely to be able to breath deeply ~ I was having a very bad Asthma attack and I can't remember the last time I had one of those either must be a good 8 years ago ~ I am used to Mild attacks and can cope with them but this was a cracker !!!!! ~

They thought it was all due to having a cold and a chest infection and having the Flu Jab to cope with as well ~ everything else they checked out was fine no heart problems in fact no other problems at all ~ so you might say I am "Fighting Fit" just a bit fragile at the moment :o) ~

Making good progress am on Antibiotics and steroids at the moment ~ and you should see the size of those Antibiotics and I have to swallow them whole :o( ~

And of course I must thank my Darling Daughter Lyn for taking good care of me ~ So a big Thank You from your Mum xxx

Memo to myself ~ If you have the slightest cold next year round whatever else you do do not have that Flu injection :o)

Today is my Granddaughters birthday ~ Happy Birthday Cressie ~ Lyn has just left here to go to their house to baby sit as Tom is taking Cressie out for a meal to celebrate ~Lyn made the cake above it is white chocolate and strawberry's ~ with strawberry cream filling ~ it was delicious ~
